Everything you're wondering about
Planning a wedding in Italy from abroad comes with a lot of questions. Here are the ones I hear most often answered honestly.
Is a wedding in Italy legally valid in our home country?
It depends on your country of origin and the type of ceremony. A civil ceremony performed in Italy is generally legally recognised in the US, Australia, and the UK, though there are specific steps involved (including paperwork through your consulate or local registry office).
Many couples also choose to have a quick legal ceremony at home before travelling, and celebrate their symbolic ceremony in Italy. This is completely valid and removes a lot of administrative complexity. I'll guide you through whichever route makes sense for you.
Of course! English is my primary working language with international couples. All communication, planning documents, vendor briefings, and on-the-day coordination are handled in English.
Do you speak English fluently?
For peak season (May through October), I recommend reaching out at least 10–12 months in advance.
For elopements with more flexibility on dates, 6 months is often enough.
I do occasionally have late availability, it's always worth asking!
How far in advance should we book?
We are not based in Italy, how does working together remotely look?
Most of our planning happens via video calls, email, and a shared planning document that keeps everything in one place.
I work across time zones and schedule calls at times that work for you. Many couples tell me they were surprised by how smooth the process felt, despite the distance.
Can you help with accommodation recommendations for us and our guests?
Absolutely. Accommodation on the Amalfi Coast requires early booking and local knowledge.
I help you navigate options that fit your style, guest count, and budget, and I coordinate logistics so that arrivals and departures are seamless.
What if we don't know exactly what we want yet?
That's perfectly fine and honestly, quite common.
My first call is a relaxed conversation, not a consultation.
We talk about what draws you to Italy, what you value, what you're hoping to feel. From there, I help you shape something that feels right.
You don't need to arrive with a Pinterest board or a guest list.
You just need to show up.
